Kane Posted October 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2007 Have read some good reviews of the Lagoonarium on Moorea, but haven't been able to find a great deal of detail, even on their web site. Would appreciate comments from those who have been there. From what I could find, it appears to be a fenced-off area of the lagoon in which "semi-captive" sea creatures live. Visitors can then snorkel and see a diverse collection of the creatures. What I am interested in is: How large is it ... estimated acres/hectares (2.5 ac. ~ 1 hectare)? How deep is the deepest section? I don't mean to be critical, but I'm from Hawaii and used to open ocean dives. It would be a bit disappointing to travel over there from the ship dock to splash around in a pen 5 feet deep. It would be nice to do some underwater photography in the famed FP crystal clear water (which is rare in Hawaii). Would I be disappointed with the Lagoonarium? The photo shows what I believe to be the Lagoonarium, with the highlighted area being the inside dive area where the captive creatures are. Please correct me if the photo is incorrect.
