terri1020 Posted October 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2007 A friend of ours booked a Princess cruise and got "Gold Mine" credits. Neither the woman at the future cruise desk on the Crown, where she booked, or her usual TA could tell her where these credits originated. Although we are thrilled for her, we are wondering how to get our own Gold Mine credits.
MichCook Posted October 31, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2007 Did she try calling the Princess 800 number and see if anyone could help her? I've never heard of "gold mine credits". Sounds like it could apply to the casino. Does she know what these credits can be used for? How was she notified that she got this credit...is it on Princess paperwork she received? Another mystery! :-)
Toto2Kansas Posted October 31, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2007 I am sure this is one of those 'Mystery' OBC that have been discussed over the last couple of weeks. Assigned by Princess and include either OBC or luggage or sometimes both. No rhyme or reason for who gets them and there is no way to get them for yourself if they didn't send you a flyer or assign them to your Princess Personalizer. JillK Posted October 31, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2007 Okay so here's my story on mystery/gold mine credits. Booked in Nov 06 for Jan 08 cruise - yep, I'm a planner. Logged into "My Princess" mid-September and low and behold, there was a mystery OBC for $75 in my account. I was thrilled. Unfortunately, I was busy and didn't get around to really investigating it further or (really unfortunately for me - lesson learned) printing the page as proof. Fast forward to 2 weeks later, and my OBC is now showing $0. I have my TA invstigate and he is told by Reservations there is no credit. TA tells me to call Princess Circle directly - and they say it must have been applied to my booking so I get transferred to Reservations. She doesn't see it in my account, and puts me on hold to investigate. She comes back and says that the only activity done during that time frame was a "Gold Mine" but that they have no record that I received it. Because I have no proof it was ever credited to my account, there is nothing she can do to help me. She was very friendly and given that I can't prove it was ever there, I understand they can't give it to me (after all, wouldn't those dishonest folks out there start claiming same?) so I thank her for her effort and let it go. All that to say that you never know when or how these mystery OBCs might pop into your account but if they do- print it out! Get proof because you might need it a little later down the road.
