Third Person Rate with 2 for 1 offer?

I was curious as to whether anyone has booked a cabin with three passengers while utilizing their 2 for 1 offer. The legal information on the website states that the third passenger price is 50% of the first passenger price. Does that mean 50% of the total cost for both passengers (since they basically using a buy one get one free sales approach) which would basically be no discount at all, or is it 1/4 of the "first passenger price" because you are buying two berths for the one price?

Please, everyone, don't go to a lot of effort to research the situation. Just respond if you have been in the situation. I'm not rushing out to book a cruise on Oceania tomorrow, but I loved my honeymoon cruise on Renaissance so much that I like to keep them in mind.
