Slots on the Sovereign of the Seas / Free Drinks?

Do they have Vegas style Nickel slots in the casino? Do they have the nickel bonus slots? I lived in Vegas for 10 years so I got used to playing for enjoyment purposes w/o dropping super large dollars, so I enjoy the nickel video bonus slots. Do they have these on this ship? If so, do they have many?

How big are ship casino's? I think I read that unlike most casino's, the ships do not offer free drinks to gamers. Are the drinks even discounted?

Thanks

They do have nickel slots in the casino, but some machines are combination machines where you decide what denomination you wish to play. There are machines that have "bonus" games with play and others that do not.

As far as drinks are concerned I have never received a discounted one, but did receive a free one based upon my slot play by the casino host. But considering how much I had to spend to get that I would not consider that free. I paid for that and then some.

Thanks for the reply. That's a bummer that they don't give out free drinks or at least discounted drinks when spending money in the casino.

I guess they figure everyone would hang out putting in like 1 nickel every so often just to get free drinks if they gave them away.

Well hopefully I'll find something to play. I don't plan on spending too much time in the casino with so much else to do you know.

thanks again

I had a blast on the 2 cent machines and won 250$ one night and 310$ another with 10$ each of those times. I brought 100$ to gamble (I know the last of the big time spenders) and had fun with the remainder of my hundred dollars the rest of the week on those machines.

The Club Royale does have perks for players if they meet the min. play. You become a Club Royale VIP player and receive a free drink card(just like a seapass card) and you can then have free drinks while playing in the Casino, on any SHIP. The membership is based from each cruise casino play. You also receive discount credits from the Casino towards your next sailing. I have received as much as 1375.00 off my next cruise, in fact I have received offers for free cruises. Right now, I am considering a Free Cruise offer from Club Royale on the Sovereign of the Seas for Dec. 10th 07. It is Complimentary for myself and 1 guest, along with a Complimentary Slot Tournament Entry. I am not one for cruising less than 7 days, but I am considering this cruise. Yes, you do have to gamble to become a member, but whether you win or lose, at least you get perks for playing!

Hey, I got an invite too, not sure if I can get the time off...maybe I will see you there. I think we have to pay port charges and tax...have you done this before?

I just got my first discount offer from a 7 night Liberty trip we just took. They offered me 325.00 off my next cruise , as I was offered membership in Casion Royale VIP club.

I am hoping they offer me a free cruise !

I go on Sovereign soon, but it's only for 3 nites..so I am not sure how much I will get on that trip...but I do gamble at least 2 hours a day so we shall see.

BTW...that 325.00 offer off the next cruise, they gave to me in onboard credit since I had already paid SOS in full. I can take the money out in the casino. Free drinks for this cruise too.

No, I have never done the free cruise invite. Yes you are responsible for the port tax. It is $133.65p/p. I am still considering it for the Dec. 10th cruise. How about you?

Still considering it if I can arrange the time to be gone...I have another family cruise a few weeks prior planned already and one a few weeks after this slot tournament one planned as well.....not sure if I can do all 3. I have turned them down before, and they let me know when another is coming.

Do you know what they consider minimums for play to get rated for club royal?

This is copied from the letter my DH received on our Mariner cruise in Sept....

The Players club cruise discount is based on your "casino action" on each previous sailing. Whether you win, lose or break even, you'll earn discounts toward your next Royal Caribbean cruise vacation.

Qualifying for this cruise discount is easy. Simply play at least two hours per day during your cruise, placing the following minimum bets: Blackjack/Dice at $50.00 per hand/roll; Caribbean Stud/Let It Ride/Three Card Poker/Roulette at $25.00 per hand/spin; Slots at $5.00 per spin.
