Anybody taken the train from Keelung to Taipei?

Is it easy to walk from the cruise terminal to the Keelung train station?

 

also, do you think I need to book the train tickets ahead of time?

Have just returned from the Sapphire Princess cruise Bangkok to Beijing. The train station is within walking distance from where the ship berthed. Two couples caught the train to Taipei and it broke down on their return trip. They had to run to the wharf just in time to see the ship sailing. Luckily the pilot ship brought them to the Sapphire at the cost of USD $100 each. They were very lucky as they would not have been able to fly to the next port and would have had to wait 4 days without anything except passports which are given to the ship's agent on shore if passengers don't board on time.
