Vegetarian Options--San Pedro

Are there any restaurants with good vegetarian options in San Pedro?

I don't know if you like Greek, but there is a great place with lots of charm in San Pedro. Papadokous (questionable spelling). It is a well known family owned restaurant. The current owner is the father of the famous NFL football players and is quite a character. Lot's of vegetarian choices if you eat cheese.

and it is LA area, so almost any restaurant will have lots of vegetarian options, and will also create anything vegetarian if you ask!

We went to Papadakis on Saturday night, and it's one loud joint. I found the food to be just ok. They interrupt the dining process frequently for singers (excellent), belly dancing (mediocre) and other entertainment (tap dancing, strolling violinist, the owner dancing). I don't think I would go back unless I were with a large party.

 

Some other nice restaurants are Think Cafe (a little of everything with some nice veggie options) or Neil's (Italian), both on 5th Street in San Pedro.

Also, if you include fish in your diet (some vegetarians do), there's 22nd Street Landing.

If you mean more Italian, Raffaelo Ristorante at 400. S. Pacific is a more traditional "red sauce" Italian place. I prefer Neil's - it's a nicer physical layout and a better quality of food and service. It's pricier, too, if you Google it you can see the menu, and I'm sure that the priciness would also allow you to customize your dinner.

 

Another question: where are you staying and will you have a car? If you're going to rely on a hotel shuttle, your options are fairly limited, but if you have a car, you can also drive 20 minutes to Long Beach and eat at some really nice restaurants there.

We are at the Crowne Plaza. Is one of the two Italian places closer?

Neil's is closer. It's not a bad walk, but I wouldn't recommend it too late at night. But then, I don't walk much of anywhere late at night.

 

Here's a link to a map showing Neil's. The Crowne Plaza is on Palos Verdes Street between 6th & 7th. Rafaello's is at 4th and Pacific, a long block further from the hotel.
