Kauai - time from ship to Thrifty rentals?

We've rented a car for Kauai and are wondering the time it takes from disembarking to get to Thrifty and pick up the car? Anyone recently do this and what time frame are we looking at?

We need to get to Ele'ele area by 10A.

Thanks!

Kristi

Thrifty on Kauai has had mixed reports here. In our case, we waited 20 minutes for a shuttle at the ship, about a ten minute ride to the office, another 20 minutes until one of the three ladies busy at computers helped us (we are Blue Chip and were first in line at that counter, and us and the couple behind us were the only ones in the office -- nobody was in the regular line), and another ten minutes while they moved the car that was blocking ours at the parking spot. So from the ship to driving away from the Thrifty office was a total of just at one hour. Others have reported better experiences, and some others worse. Ours didn't ruin our vacation, but stood out as a sour note, especially compared to the service we had at Thrifty elsewhere.

We recently rented a car from Thrifty in Kauai. It took a long time for the shuttle to show up at the pier. Also when we returned the car they only had two shuttles running, one to the pier and one the airport so be sure to allow enough time to turn in the car and be shuttled back to the ship. Dollar Rental seemed to have a lot more shuttles running and dropping people off at the pier.

We were on Pride of America 9/15 and rented with Thrifty on Kauai the shuttle ran about every 10 min. About a 10 min. ride to lot.We waited about 5 to 10 min. and got car within 2 min. They upgrade almost always 3 out of 4 times.Having a car in Kauai is priceless. So much to see.
