according to the ha site, the cabana is $250pp. that is $1000 bucks for four people. seems a little steep for salsa and a misting shower. or is it $250 for the cabana? and if you get butler service, is that an additional $270pp or is it $270 for up to four people. sorry to have literacy issues this early in the day....i can't figure it out. there will be four of us. what will it cost for a cabana and butler? thanks, lauri

Lauri,

The $250 cost for the cabana is all you pay...one person pays it and the cabana is your's for the day. You can have as many as 4 people in the cabana without being charged for extras. Each of the 4 people does not pay $250.

The butler service is a one time payment of $270...again only one person needs to pay it, not all four. Extra people will incurr an additional charge however.

Enjoy your cabana! :)

The HAL site is not as clear as it should be. For example it says $250 per person but fail to tell you that only one person needs to book the cabana and the $250 includes the other 3 guests. That comes to $62.50 per person.

A group of us have booked the Grand Oasis Cabana when we sail on the Westerdam in January.

If you go to this link you can then review all the Cabana packages. Just remember the price you see is the TOTAL price for all guests and not per person.

Lauri -

It is $250 for the cabana, up to four people. If you need a nice shady area, I recommend a cabana. Clamshells get pretty warm in the afternoons.

We have the Grand Oasis in December, which is for 12, about $99 per person. It's new and we can't wait to try it out. :)

Just DH and I had the purple one, the last one. We really enjoyed the cabana. The weather was gorgeous! The ocean was perfect. Our ship was the only one there, and it just was not crowded at all. We had the ocean right in front of us basically to ourselves. The shower is nice, as salt water leaves that nasty feel to your skin.

We did the walk to the barbeque, and it was not bad at all. But if you have knee replacement or bad hips, you may want to stay closer in.

We did not opt for the butler, and were just fine without him. We had plenty of water and coke, and food they provided. In fact, we brought the water and cokes back to the cabin.

We'd lay out on our deck and just watch people walk by.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat! It was worth the $250.

We just got off the Westerdam last week and rented the eggshell cabana at HMC. Initially, the $250 seems steep, but in the end it is well worth it. Since you rent and pay for it early, the cost doesn't hurt so much once you get there. Actually, it seems to be free. ;) The privacy, misting fan, beverages, and shower are wonderful when you are out in the hot sun.

When you arrive on the ship the first day, you are asked to complete a form with your needs and number of people in your cabana. Someone on the boards gave us the hint to sign up for 4 people even though it was just the two of us. We appreciated the extra two beverages while laying in the sun.

Enjoy!
