Singapore airport to cruise ship

Hello All,

My wife and I will be disembarking our cruise ship (Rhapsody of the seas) in Singapore and going directly to the airport.

I am wondering how far it is from the cruise ship terminal to the airport.

Our ship arrives in port at 5 AM and our flight is at 10:30 AM.

Is that enough time?

How early does disembarkation start in the morning?

What transportation options do you recommend?

Should I change my flight time?

It is Sunday morning so that may help with traffic congestion.

Any advice I can get will be much appreciated.

Regards, Rick

It doesnt matter so much what time the ship arrives at the port, but more importantly when it is cleared by officials for disembarkation.

Singaport Officials are notoriously efficient at clearing ships. They sometimes even sail with the ship from the previous port to get it done overnight.

Changhi Airport is about 40 minutes from the pier.

You shouldnt have any problems.

Once your ship has been cleared you will be at the airport before 30 minutes has elapsed. Being a Sunday morning there will be no traffic and even on a normal working day, the traffic flows extremely well.

The taxis are very efficient and it will only cost you around $30S at the most.

Changi airport is the best in the world and as with everything in Singapore, it is exceptionally clean.

If it were me, I would be changing my flight to a later one. Even though it says that the ship will dock at 5am, that doesn't mean that Immigration will come on board at that time. I don't know about Singaporian officials but elsewhere they arrive after 7am and it can be a slow process. Also, you need to allow at least 2 and a half hours for check in so if you manage to leave the ship by 8am, which I very much doubt, you will be struggling to get the 10.30am flight. I certainly wouldn't want the stress of not making the flight.

Why don't you get in touch with your cruiseline for clarification.

Jennie
