WeehawkenCruiser Posted November 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2007 Quick question...does anyone know what the Prescription laws are like in Samana? No, I am not looking for anything illegal here in the US, but I was able to pick up some Asthma medication in Belize in 2005 for a lot cheaper than they have it here. (I am also going to be traveling to Tortola and the Bahamas) Thanks for any help/advice! :D
destinationparadise Posted November 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2007 I'm not sure. But from what I've been reading about Samana so far... it may not be the best place to pickup your medical supplies. It's very poor, some describe it as 3rd world county poor. Again, I haven't been there, but I would rather pay a little extra in the US and know I'm getting quality medication than 'risk it' to save a few bucks. (Or at least go with your other stops, which are more developed cities.)
slotaddict Posted November 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2007 I wouldn;t buy a sandwich in Samana. We were there and getting ready to take the tender over to the island, when the people coming back already were saying how terrible it was. I don;t think there are any real stores, they have a flea market thingy were everyone sells their crafts. I dont; think anyone was selling medication. Try somewhere else.
