How many of you own stock in your favorite cruiseline, be it CCL or any other cruise company?

Would love to hear your opinions/comments on why you would or would not...

We do.

 

We cruise enough to get about a 10% return on our investment from the OBC.

Plus they pay a little dividend.

 

But we bought it quite awhile ago before it made the "bump" up.

 

Each individual needs to assess if it is a good deal for them.

I've had a good return on my initial outlay, and love that little OBC on each trip!

I've purchased some after my first cruise in 2004. Buying more each month to get to 100 shrs and the OBC. Should be there by January, just in time for my Feb 08 cruise.

I own a significant amount of shares and bought YEARS ago at a low threshold so my views are biased - but the OBC helps out even more now!

I think I bought right around 2QFY03 and got in at around $21/share...

 

Not bad at all considering the perks and current value - dividends could be better but the perks and performance are standard for this type of stock IMHO.

 

Earlier this year is peaked at around $53/share but I wouldn't sell a single share...

No, stocks have to be bought from a broker or an online broker such as etrade.

I agree it is on the high side now. I think most folks that own it are like us and have had it awhile before the price went up.

 

And again, it depends on how many times someone cruises. At $50.00 a share, cruising a 7 day cruise once a year to get $100 OBC is not a good return on a $5,000.00 investment.

I have 20 shares in Carnival. I'm thinking about buying more but I'm not sure if it will go up much.
