Sitka puffin viewing

Sitka Secrets and Captain Davey are booked when I will be in Sitka. What other options are available for puffin viewing? Do other independents just appear at the dock to find customers? I really want to see puffins up close.

Most ports have independent charters at or near the docks, if you go that route I would get off the ship as early as possible to look for someone, they'll also book up fast. If you are going to be in Icy Strait there are also puffins in that area and charters that will take you out to see them.
