TravelGal22 Posted November 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2007 I am just starting to look into a cruise for Jan. so I don't have much time to make decisions. I'm interested in a 5 day cruise on the ship Inspiration but I don't see any threads about it. Is anyone familiar with this ship? Also, what cruise line is less likely to have allot of children on it?

*Mach* Posted November 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2007 I sailed on the Inspiration several years ago but she has recently gone through a dry dock and had many upgrades added. http://www.carnival.com/CMS/Articles/eof_virtual2007.aspx http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=618158&highlight=inspiration+upgrades+dry+dock I'm booked on the Carnival Inspiration in April and I can't wait. She was a lovely vessel before and she's even nicer now. Hope this helps you.
FLCruiser001 Posted November 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2007 We were on the 4 day Carnival Inspiration cruise in October. The ship is beautiful, well kept, and our service was absolutely fantastic. There weren't many kids on board, as I would expect for your cruise also. nicole276 Posted November 12, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2007 I haven't been on the ship, but am booked for January as well. Search the boards for posts. Most I have read is good. It is an older ship, but I have read that the refur was great....
buddyjo143 Posted November 12, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 12, 2007 You can search for posts about what time of year you will find the least number of children. If you want little to know children, book one of the very high end cruise lines. Unless you are overly sensitive to kids, I have never found a problem with Carnival. Go about doing what grown-ups do and for the most part you won't notice children. I only notice the kids when we travel with family and I am looking out for my own nieces and nephew. ;)
Drew's Wife Posted November 12, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 12, 2007 We were on The Inspiration in October also, and we had a really nice. time. It was the first cruise out after the drydock, so some of the New Evolutions area was not in operation at the time, but I understand that everything is operational now. The ship was really clean and the staff was so nice. They made sure that anything we needed was available and that a little probelm that we had with some Bov Voyage gifts was taken care of quickly and efficiently. I think you will enjoy the ship very much. I can't tell you anything about the shows or the casino, because we neverattend these, but I'm sure others might be able to answer your questions where this is concerned. csaeroach Posted November 13, 2007 #9 Share Posted November 13, 2007 We will be on the Jan 05, 2008 sailing. I am taking my daughter for her 16th birthday, and also my 18 year old daughter will be joining us. As for kids, you will find more on Carnival ships, then say Princess or HAL. We were on the Crown Princess in Oct 2007, and there were a few children around the ship, but not many. The first of Jan sailings, may have more children, as they will be on Christmas break .... end of Jan, it would likely be safe to say, that there would be some children, but not as bad as Christmas and Spring breaks.... Inspiration looks like a nice ship, and they now have the Adult Only area, so this will help with enjoying the sun without children. We have been on a few Carnival cruises in the past, and always have such a lovely time. I am sure if you decide to go on the Inspiration you will be very glad you did! The4Cruisers Posted November 13, 2007 #10 Share Posted November 13, 2007 We just got off the Inspiration on Saturday. This was our second cruise on her in 13 months. Based on what we saw, the refurb was a complete success and the cruise was wonderful. Enjoy your trip!

*Mach* Posted November 14, 2007 #13 Share Posted November 14, 2007 OK all..crunch time...I am leaving tomorrow...Do they have irons or should I bring it? thanks Yes. There are laundry rooms on each of the all cabin decks, at least two per. Irons are available there. You should not bring your own as they are a fire hazard.
