Post Sailing Package Snafu

Recommended Posts

Just returned from the Crown Princess 11/10 and booked a post stay pakage thru Princess at the Marriott - this was not a smooth transition from the Princess by any means. We booked the Rain Forest Tour and were assured our luggage would go to the hotel before us. Not the case, first on leaving the ship we had to ask several people where to place our luggage - it all went on ONE truck to the airport - we finally asked the right question to the right person to find they had an envelope with instructions on our extended stay - Turned out that we had to go to the airport with the other people on the tour, find out luggage and then get transported to the hotel WITH our luggage. Then we open the letter to read that we should check our transfer vouchers which were not in the envelope!

Hotel check-in was a horror show - rooms not ready, pagers they gave us didn't work, had to keep checking back and then had to change rooms due to a large party going on in the next room (at 3:00 in the afternoon!) and the room smelled like a rum factory! Finally got a decent room and then tried the pool but a very lively football game going on in the water was not to our liking and was not being stopped by hotel personnel (and getting almost beaned off the head didn't help!) so the afternoon was not relaxing.

Trying to leave the next day was just as bad - we were told to meet our transport in the lobby and refer to our transfers coupons (which we never recieved). Our pickup time was 12:45 but check out was 12:00 so we went to the lobby to wait - short version: a tour driver came in around 12:15 - looked around, never said a word, talked to another couple about 20 feet from us and left - we didn't question this as we figured they were going someplace different than us and our driver would be along at the correct time - had to call the company at 1:00 to find out that WAS our driver and he took the wrong people - finally got to the airport with the driver explaining all the way that the dispatcher told him to pick up a couple going to the ship (why didn't they have our name???) and we were going to the airport - sounded more like he picked up an extra fare and screwed up! Tour Coop was the transfer group and they were not helpful to say the least - which was strange becuase on the previous day our trip to the rainforest with a different driver was excellent!

Could have done it better on our own with taxi's - not worth the extra money paid.
