That is really sad. The SS Norway is the only cruise my aunt and uncle ever took (it was a retirement present from his company) and I remember the wonderful pictures they brought back.

 

Of course this was many many years ago....

This is a sad end to classic ship. We sailed on her many times before the infamous "refitting". I still have a few key rings that were prizes for finding Norway coins in the waters of the private island.

It's true "You always remember your first".

The video "The Only Way to Cross" was a fine example of transatlantic ships.:cool:

We sailed this beautiful ship about 10 years ago, she was showing her age but at the same time I appreciated the beauty and character that the ship held. This is a very sad article.

The Norway was a true "lady". We still miss her and have such wonderful fond memories.....a sad ending to a wonderful ship.

We have sailed on her 3 times, and enjoyed all of them. What a wonderful ship she was. We too miss her!!
