What is the best thing to see?

My husband and I will be going to St Thomas for the first time next month and we were wondering what is the best thing to do/see on the island? We love beaches and I love nice views since my hobby is taking lots of pictures. Can we do both in one day? We will be there from 10am-8pm.. :D

I forgot to mention...we will be there on Christmas Day. Are shops, etc still open for the ships that come in that day? :confused: hh
