weezers79 Posted November 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2007 Had anyone done this shore excursion when they cruised to Calica? We're from MT and my husband has always wanted to fish on the ocean but I'd like to know if any one has gone on this excursion and if they liked it. Thanks for the help!!:D
mamamo65 Posted November 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2007 We did! My two DSs (14 & 11) and I went back in May. Definitely worth the money. We caught 6 Mahi-Mahi. There was a couple from Orlando with us and a first mate. My only advice(beside to do this) is to take some of the beer, soda or water from the cooler when you get out of the boat for lunch. They cook one these beauties and serve with rice, tortillas, etc. But you only get one small glass of soda. It was raining when we first set out but it soon stopped. One couple that had booked decided not to weather the rain, they were very upset when we got back to shore.:(
mamamo65 Posted November 27, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2007 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=47526&d=1181079723 Here is a picture of the boats, our captain and 3 of the Mahi-Mahi, and us. There is not a dock, you have to climb in and out of the boat, but I could do it, no problem.

mamamo65 Posted December 4, 2007 #5 Share Posted December 4, 2007 If you wouldn't mind letting me know if you enjoyed the excursion, I think we may have to head back to that area and do some more fishing one day.
