Is there any shade on the deck by the pools?

1st time cruiser.

My wife loves to lay by the pool and tan. I on the other hand burn easily and need shade. When we go to resorts this is not a problem because we just grab a lounger by an umbrella.

Are there umbrellas by the pools? Is there anything else on the deck that provides shade?

Thanks

No umbrellas but there is shade around the pool. There is a second deck above the pool that surrounds it providing some shade.

Of course depending on which side of the ship you are on and where the sun is, you can start in shade and end up in full sun. We were on a Mex. Riviera cruise last month and started in the shade on the east side of the ship around noon and ended up in full sun by 3:30-4 pm. So, just be aware of where the sun is and where it's going if you want to stay in the shade.:)

The older Fantasy class ships are undergoing a major transformation. Once they have been refurbished, the adult area at the stern will feature seating with umbrellas. I'm guessing you have your first cruise booked, but in the future you may want to consider one of these ships.
