NengEuis Posted November 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2007 I am so sorry to ask this again, but I cannot find a definite answer about Hawaii's car seat law - since I know they enacted a new booster seat law in January 2007. My DD is 4 years old, 44" tall and 42lbs. Does she need a booster seat to ride in a Taxi or Shuttle in Hawaii? Also, what kind of vehicles are used on the Secrets of Puna? "Luxury SUV" is a pretty general term. I am afraid she won't be able to see very well if she isn't boosted up. Any insight or recent experiences would be great! :)
Rada_CMH Posted November 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2007 We just came back with our 4 year old and brought along a backless booster - it was not too big/heavy to take along (you can also get one at Walmart for $20 once you get in Hawaii) and she loved having it. We aslo felt she was safer. We rented cars in all ports, so I can't tell you about Taxis, but certainly it was not a requrement when riding on Shuttles to the car rental agencies. If you have space bring it along - both you and your daughter will feel better about it so why take a risk. Rada
NengEuis Posted November 26, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted November 26, 2007 Thanks for the reply. We are not renting a car anywhere - if we were it would be a no brainer. :) I can just pack her backless booster in my duffle bag, now that I think about it. If anyone knows the type of vehicle used in the Secrets of Puna tour, or whether she needs a booster to ride in a taxi, please chime in! Thanks!
