willysgrandma Posted November 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2007 For those that have done any of these canopy tours in Puerto Vallarta, which of the following do you recommend? www.vallarta-adventures.com www.puertovallartatours.net www.canopytours_vallarta.com or any other auggestions? I'd love to hear actual experiences, good or bad from anyone who has done a non-ship sponsored tour. Thanks in advance!
MSN-Travelers Posted November 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2007 For those that have done any of these canopy tours in Puerto Vallarta, which of the following do you recommend? www.vallarta-adventures.com www.puertovallartatours.net www.canopytours_vallarta.com or any other auggestions? I'd love to hear actual experiences, good or bad from anyone who has done a non-ship sponsored tour. Thanks in advance! Vallarta Adventures runs the ship's tour. This is a tree-top-to-tree-top excursion with a rapple to the ground at the end. Puerto Vallarta Tours.net is a third party tour broker. They don't actually run any excursions. You go to them to purchase ship's tours that are not available to cruisers. Arrive on a ship and you cannot buy a Vallarta Adventures tour direct from them (at the normal tourist rates), you buy the tour from brokers like Puertovallartatours.net or vallartaonline.com Canopytours-vallarta operates the Los Veranos zipline "canopy tour" excursion. This is a basic thrill ride on long lines that span a river valley several hundred feet up. I've done the Vallarta Adventures excursion once and the Los Veranos excursion twice. The two excursions are called canopy tours but only the one run by Vallarta Adventures matches the form and style of the original Costa Rican excursion. Los Veranos is the most popular tour at the moment due to the variety of times offered and the post-excursion activities available at the excursion site (swimming, restaurant, tequila tasting). Enjoy!
Kviolasr Posted November 27, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2007 We went on the Los Veranos canopy tour and absolutely loved it. Will be returning this winter during a PV land vacation.
Family Man Posted November 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2007 We did Los Veranos in June 2006 and El Eden (not on your list) on Thanksgiving day (last week). I would recommend either of these. Great fun, beautiful surroundings!
doublenickelgal Posted November 28, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 28, 2007 DH and 16 and 14 year old DD's had a great time last week at Los Veranos. They'd do it again. They purchased the DVD and we've had a great time watching their daring adventure.

cruzwpj Posted February 3, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 3, 2008 Does anyone know from experience if the canopy zipline has a single seat or can 2 ride together, we are going next week and just wondered. Thanks Myval
suziehmkr Posted February 3, 2008 #8 Share Posted February 3, 2008 The two that we have been on (Los Veranos & El Eden) are singles... you go by yourself, one at a time. I haven't seen one that is a double.
