lhall85917 Posted June 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2004 I know this has been addressed before, but I can't find it! We are arriving in Seattle @11:30 pm on July 3, then leaving on NCL Star on the 4th. We are thinking of booking a room near the airport, then going back to the airport and taking the Gray Line bus to the pier on the 4th. Would we be better off staying close to the pier instead, if so, any suggestions on what to book? Our thought was that we will arrive so late, we don't really care much about the room but we want to make it easy to get to the pier for our cruise. Thanks in advance for your advice/suggestions. Rare Gardyloo Posted June 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Stay at the airport; taxi to pier in the morning, check in or drop bags at Pier 66 concierge, walk around town till it's time to get on board. We drove past the Star at Pier 66 this morning around 11 AM just as the last of the getting-offers and the first of the getting-oners were colliding on the sidewalk. Not bad but a tad congested - I'd guess there were 20 or so parties waiting for cabs to go to the airport or whatever. Pier 66 is set up strangely - the entrance for those getting on the ships is south of the taxi stand for those leaving the terminal after their cruises. Since the terminal is on the west side of the street, that means the cabs drop off the sailing passengers, then have to go around the block to pick up those wanting to go to the airport. One would think the cabs could simply unload pax, then move forward a couple dozen yards to pick up those leaving the terminal. Silly me.
Krazy Kruizers Posted June 20, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Seattle Since you are arriving so late at night, you should just stay at a hotel by the airport. We have stayed at the Radisson and Hilton a couple of times. There are lots of hotels by the airport. Many of the hotels offer transporation to the airport. This airport is different than most. You will be left off in the parking garage. Whether you decide to take a taxi or the Greyline bus to the pier, you will have to cross back to the terminal side of the airport. Both Greyline and taxis are located here. The Greyline buses fill up quickly but are less expensive than a taxi. lhall85917 Posted June 20, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Thanks to both of you - makes sense. I see that you can buy the bus transfers online, I'm guessing that I should do that since they fillup quickly?
