typhoon season?

I am interested to take a cruise in Asia around November/December, but I am a little worried about the rough seas. I have not found a definitive answer exactly when is the typhoon season?:o

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've had the same trouble getting a clear answer to the same question -- and I'm in Asia!

 

Basically what I've been hearing that does make sense is that typhoon runs roughly about the same time as hurricane season in the Atlantic basin -- June - end of November. With the heart of it in August/September.

 

But this year the storms were late -- and it's considered highly unusual for them to be a problem this late....

Like Carolyn, we sailed on the Diamond, in late November, 06.

 

There was a "late" Typhoon that hit Viet Nam while were were in Japan.

 

On the bright side, we were able to sail onto Viet Nam.:)

 

Mother Nature is fickle:(

We are now booked on Diamond Princess end of November and I am hoping there is no typhoons during our cruise. I do not think I could handle it if the seas were like they were last week on Sapphire Princess...:eek:
