Clontarf Castle Hotel anyone?

We are going to spsend a few days in Dublin prior to our sailing out of Southampton, looking at the Clontarf Castle Hotel. Wondering if anyone has stayed there and your opinions. How far to city centre by cab and how much? We are renting a car for driving into the country but see that parking is very expensive in the city. Any tips would be greatful!

Clontarf Castle was a catering hall turned into a 4 star castle hotel. It is not at all in Dublin city center, and if you are thinking of walkng from there to the city, you'll be exhausted. Better off staying more city center or at a hotel in the city center with a car parking lot.

I've booked knowing that it's not in the city centre. We are planning on renting a car and taking day trips outside of the city for two of the days we are there. For the one day we go downtown, we'll just hop a taxi. Thanks for the link it has some good stuff!
