jrm9999 Posted January 7, 2008 #76 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Correct - on Freedom class ships, the only way that D / D+ members gain entry into the actual CL is if they are also staying in qualifying suites. Where is the D/D+ lounge located on Freedom class? I see the CL is on deck 10, but don't see any listing for the other.

It is on Deck 14, in a special area just off the Viking Crown Lounge. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/ship/decks/deck/home.do?deckCode=14&shipCode=FR&shipProfile=1161&sailDate=1080113&hasNavigation=false
tinkerme1 Posted January 7, 2008 #78 Share Posted January 7, 2008 And according to RCI's statements about a similar incident on the Explorer, this practice is contrary to Royal Caribbean policy. If you encounter it you should be sure to register a complaint onboard and follow up with the company when you get home. Bill: Our Hawaii cruise was handled so well, that I would find it really hard to believe that anyone should have lodged a complaint. Maritza was our Concierge Specialist and she did an incredible job! She opened up all of the Viking Crown for the Diamond Members and even opened Portofino's in the morning for all Suite/Diamond +/Diamond members for breakfast. It was truly splendid. Even though the Concierge was for Suite/D+ guests, many of these folks decided to go up to the VC or Hollywood Odyssey (HO opened for smokers). I think Maritza tried to please everyone and did a spectacular job of doing it. I think we all had a great time. PS. The coffee machine in the CL was broken almost the whole trip! Saltyseadog Posted January 7, 2008 #80 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Hey Kimbo... you wrote I wanted to add another couple of perks...I just recently got back from Navigator and I was in a GS. New amenities that I hadnt had on previous cruises this year are: 1) Coffee pot with coffee press! I loved this! 2) Pillow Menu - Isotonic, goose down, body pillows to name a few 3) Binoculars to use - I loved this too! Now I know why you never joined us for breakfast in the lounge.. It wasn't working when we boarded. :( They tried fixing it several times while we were in Port, but no go. Just remember, you'll be/are one of those "people" soon/now! onelifetolive2 Posted January 7, 2008 #83 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Sorry if this was already asked... Do all Concierges e-mail their guests a week before, or is this only on some cases? I would love to pre-book my Chops and Spa appointments.

Merion_Mom Posted January 9, 2008 #96 Share Posted January 9, 2008 Wow. One heck of an inconvenient place IMO. Absolutely not! The room is large, there are full walls of windows on two sides, and the views are amazing. The room itself is right there as you step off the elevator. LindaandJeff Posted January 9, 2008 #97 Share Posted January 9, 2008 Wow! The first group of amenities is what the Freedom offers as well, but the second group is especially nice. I love the idea of full breakfast, dinner and Johnny Rockets menu being available for in-cabin dining, and the free Luggage Valet perk is AWESOME! I have sent a copy of this letter to Francois aboard the Freedom, inquiring whether these perks are fleetwide. Thanks for sharing! We sailed with Francois in October. He was the best! The continental breakfast in the morning was wonderful, though it seemed very few of the suite guests took advantage of it. We always stopped by in the evening for a glass of wine before dinner...very relaxing. We enjoyed chatting with Francois and appreciated all of his wonderful advice. Enjoy your suite and concierge experience!

Once you go GS...oh well...you really can never go back!!! Our GS experience was perfect! It was meant to be a one time splurge after a really tough year for us, but now we are so spoiled. Have a great time!
