Private Tour in Venice

Recommended Posts

We will be doing a 3 day post cruise in Venice in Oct 2008 following our 12 day cruise on Grand Princess. We will be doing private tours throughout the cruise itinerary following great suggestions from many CC's.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a private tour driver/guide for at least one day possibly 2?

Thanks

Pam

Venice is probably best done “on your own”. I’d suggest you buy a good map at Barnes & Noble – one that shows the Vaparetto routes and some of the key attractions and points of interest (other than St. Marks) and just enjoy exploring the city.

It’s only about 2 miles across, so you can’t get too terribly lost, and some of the Vaparetto routes take you to the other islands (Murano and Burano). Having 3 days in Venice sounds like a wonderful way to cap off a wonderful cruise. Do a little research and enjoy. :)

Hi Pam,

This is the one I plan on using.

They have some interesting ones, a ghost tour, a walking tour with a gondola ride, Burano & Murano Island tour. Take a look. When my husband and I went to Venice, there were no such tours, I was so disappointed. The vaporetto ride down the Grand Canal was all that was offered.

Lots to chose from these days.

For first class service and guides in Venice I would fully recommend IC Bellagio. http://www.icbellagio.com/ You can book them through your Travel Agent and pay by your credit card in US$ so it is very secure.

We have used them twice in Venice. Check out our reports at

and

Also, don't miss the great multi media show CARNIVAL - THE SHOW. http://www.venice-carnival-show.com/ It is a wonderful live action and media history of Venice which would be great for your first night there.

Have a GREAT cruise!
