Hotel Santa Chiara - Venice

Recommended Posts

I would appreciate any comments or observations from anyone who has stayed in this hotel or otherwise are familiar with the hotel.

We are on the Grand Princess Transatlantic and Med. cruise for 32 days ending in Venice in May, 08. We plan on staying in Venice after the cruise for a couple of days.

Thank you.

Earl

I booked two nights at the Santa Chiara back in October of 2006 thru either Hotel.com or Expedia. When I went to check in- they were overbooked and moved me for one night to the Hotel Continental- which required walking over two bridges and was inferior. Then they had me go back to the Santa Chiara for the second night. It was nice but nothing special. Great location. I am just reluctant to say that it is a great hotel because of the overbooking problem- which I have not experienced at the Hotel Antiche Figure or the Sofitel (also convenient to Piazzle Roma). Both of these hotels were very nice and I was treated really well at the Hotel Antiche Figure (and there is free internet in the lobby). The Hotel Cadoge is also right in Piazzle Roma and I am going to give them a try this July.

Hope this was a help.
