Holiday Inn LA airport

Our hotel has been changed from the Hilton to the Holiday Inn. Anyone stayed there? Is there anything near the hotel?
I have not stayed there, but I did spend over one year across the street from the hotel (well, at least Mondays through Fridays, for about eight hours each day).

Next door is a McDonnalds. Otherwise, you are on the main street going into LAX from the 405 freeway. The street is about eight lanes wide and very busy. The rest of what is along Century Blvd are businesses and hotels (basically on your side of the street are the hotels and on the other side of the street are businesses).

It has been awhile. I have not worked there since around 1989. But let me know what it is you are looking for ("anything" is sort of a broad request) and I'll try to help you out.

Well, about one mile north of the hotel is Manchester Blvd. There are more restaurants along Manchester. These run from fast food to middle level sit down restaurants. Here is a link for your hotel - http://www.hilax.com/

My favorite (when I am in the area) for dinner (if I am hungry enough) is Three Flames Mongolian Bar-B-Q, 5608 W Manchester Ave, Los Angeles, CA (310) 641-6868. It is on Manchester one block west of Aviation Blvd. It is an all you can eat, cooked to order, store front restaurant. You get to pick out what you want and then it is cooked for you. My favorite week day lunch place is the Proud Bird on the corner of Aviation and 111th. Proud Bird 11022 Aviation Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90045-6187 Phone: (310) 670-3093. It is just south of the eastern end of the south runways at LAX. So it is about 3/4 mile south and west from the hotel. This is an upscale restaurant that serves a great all you can eat buffet lunch with some cook to order items. Unfortunately this lunch is only served on week days. I have eaten dinner there a couple of times, but I was not impressed and do not go there for dinner any more. Here is a link - http://www.theproudbird.com/

About two miles to the east of your hotel is the Hollywood Park. It is a horse race track. I don't know if you are interested, but it is there. Here is a link - http://www.hollywoodpark.com/

Go northwest from the airport and you'll find Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier ...

Go south from the airport and you'll find oil refineries. Go further south and you'll find San Pedro and Long Beach (which is were the cruise ships dock).
