I keep coming up with more questions! - Calling Home

My husband needs to call the office when we get to Nassau. Is our best bet to buy a calling card locally and use a payphone? I know our cell phone carrier charges 3.99 per minute and that's will just eat up my casino budget! Any recommendations? We will have a room at Atlantis for the day but I understand they really charge a hefty rate for International calling.

Thanks!

whether you use a calling card or regular phone it will still be very expensive. from what we saw it averaged about $6 to $7 per minute to call back home.

Most use e-mail on the ship because it costs less to communicate that way.

we pre arrange to check our mail at a certain time and for our family to check their at a certain time so we know anything important questions we need to answer will be there at a certain time each day.

Good luck,

yes you can buy it 75 cents aminute or a package deal which is cheaper.

i will warn you that the computers do move slowly on board.

so if you need to contact them more than once you might consider a small package deal.

the safes are very small, as you said a couple of wallets and passports are about it.

Many just hide them underneath their clothes in a drawer or leave them in a suitcase after unpacking everything else. If you dont leave out anything to do with the laptop, nobody will even know you have it with you.

I know several people who have done this and no problems.

I have also seen the doors open to rooms while being cleaned and a laptop sitting on the coffee table in plain sight.

We had our laptop with us in October and there was no problem just leaving it on the desk. We were actually able to use the computer in St Thomas, we hooked on to someones internet access on the islands!! Also my husbands cell phone worked a lot from the islands without roaming charges.
