Has anyone done NCL SNUBA program?

My Husband has his heart set on Scuba diving on our trip in November. Unfortunatley he has never been on a dive or recieved instruction.

  • Can anyone tell me about the SNUBA program on board the Spirit?
  • Is this a good alternative?
  • Should he get certified to Dive before we leave?
  • If he does get certified but does not have any dive time before the trip, will he be able to dive at Grand Caman or Roatan?

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. Feel free to e-mail me if needed.

Well, we're on the same ship and something else in common.........my husband was also wanting to try scuba diving........we've looked at the SNUBA and also at the dives where you are paired with a certified diver..... cuz he is NOT certified.

He was thinking he could take lessons on the cruise? But he is WRONG........ since then he is rethinking..........

I'm def. not wanting to dive, opr SNUBA to be honest, I'm happy with scuba in beautiful areas.......it's always been "enough" for me, so we are trying to figure out just what we will do on Roatan and Grand Cayman........

Can't decide on ship tours or our own either, but that is another story!

I have heard NCL has about the best program at sea, but for me I will stick with snorkeling. The best I have done was in Roatan. NMnita

We were at Grand Cayman in December of 03 and did the SNUBA with NCL and it was great. I am a diver but my two daughters and wife are not, this was a great way for them to experiance the thrill of diving without a lot of instruction. You won't be disapointed!
