which side Auckland to Sydney?

Do we want to be on the starboard side since we'll be traveling south and that would be toward the island? We will have a balcony so would like to sit outside and see the sights. Thanks!

Also, how far in advance do we need to book for Feb 09?

Thanks!

Starboard side would be good but I wouldn't make it a showstopper. You really only get glimpses of land anyway.

Balconies on certain ships tend to sell out first - especially on HAL.

Cheers,

Steve.

I agree with Steve ... the ship is only close to land going in and out of port. The only other time on your NZ cruise where you will be close to land (ie in Milford or Doubtful Sound), it doesn't matter which side of the ship you're on as you'll either see one side of the sound going in and the other going out. At least I'm told that is what is supposed to happen.

Cheers

Bob
