Blue Skies Posted December 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2007 We are thinking of booking a bow cabin ie 7000 or 7001 on the Pacific Princess, and we were wondering if :- 1) It is very windy on the balcony. 2) Is it glass, railings or a solid balcony, we like to see through when sitting down! Any other information would be most welcome especialy from someone who has sailed in one.
Druke I Posted December 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2007 Haven't been in either of those cabins, but there is a lot of wind across the bow when underway. I much prefer midships. We were in 6051 on Pacific Princess, and it fit our needs/desires very well.
Blue Skies Posted December 19, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted December 19, 2007 We were thinking the same and usually like the stern cabins on Sapphire (totaly sheltered) but we think the stern on the Pacific will have a lot of vibration not being 'pod' propulusion and so we fancied the opposite!! thanks for your info. If sailing 20 knots into a 15 knot wind you would experience 35 knot winds in your face.... not very comfortable. However, if sailing 20 knots with a 15 knot trailing wind it would be very calm. Druke I Posted December 20, 2007 #5 Share Posted December 20, 2007 None of the ships in the Princess fleet utilize "pods" - they are all propellor and shaft.
