Christmas in Tahiti ?

Just returned from a whirlwind 24 hour in Papeete.

That's what happens when one stays too long away from Fp, cravings for Poisson Cru and Hinano gets the best of you !

 

Should you be in Papeete for the holidays, make sure to include a visit the Lobby of the Sheraton Tahiti with a collections of Christmas trees decorated by different corporations for a fund raiser campaign. felt like arriving in Disneyland Monday night.

 

The Christmas village nearby was very inviting with the thousands of lights around.

 

In Papeete, Many shops have set wrapping stations for the shoppers.

 

Most of the electric lines on the road from the airport were also illuminated by multi color lights.

Meherio - This sure brought back memories of our stay at the Sheraton. I'd forgotten all about the Christmas trees and when we went to take photos, they were down (we came just after New Year's).

 

Do they still have that shell chandelier over the stairs?

Glad to hear it. We may be staying there one night depending upon our flight inbound. Despite what others say, we loved the ambiance and over all feeling and service that we received there.
