reggierail Posted September 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2004 Jamaica Public Announcement September 9, 2004 This Public Announcement is being issued to urge U.S. citizens to carefully consider the risk of travel to Jamaica at this time due to the threat posed by Hurricane Ivan. The storm is predicted to make landfall in Jamaica the morning of September 10. This Public Announcement expires on September 23, 2004. The U.S. Embassy in Kingston has closed for all but emergency American Citizens Services. U.S. citizens in areas likely to be impacted by Hurricane Ivan who do not have access to adequate and safe shelter should consider departing until the storm has passed. Flights into and out of Kingston and Montego Bay international airports may be suspended at any time. If staying in Jamaica, U.S. citizens are urged to locate shelter, monitor media reports, and follow all official instructions.
