It was a beatiful night on board. Left my balcony door open all night. Enjoyed some great pastries from the International Cafe this morning. Hope to spend some time poolside this afternoon. I think I will have to be forceably removed from the ship in a couple of days:-)

Pam:

So glad you are having such a wonderful cruise. I would love to go to Aruba one of these days. How nice to have the cabin door open all night. Love when the temps are right for that. Understand about not wanting to get off the ship and end the cruise. Now on the one we just went on it wasn't that way. Couldn't wait for that cruise to be done. It was truly not a good cruise at all. The other line was just not for us.

Have a great last day. The pastries sound delicious right now.

Pam, how did you leave the door open all night - by bungee cord or what?

We have a balcony too, on our upcoming cruise and would like to do the same thing if it isn't too hot. Thanks

I am not Pam but when you want to keep the door open just put the handle down and it will keep from sliding back and forth. I hope that is clear to you. Just slide the door open where you want it to stay and then push the handle down. It should lock.

To all posting from the Emerald. Thank you so much for the reviews. I am taking notes and would like more info on the Wacky Rollers and the "junk" tour. Where did you go, what did you see and would you highly recommend it to others. Our countdown is not going quick enough. I mainly do all the booking for the cruise and the investigating for what to do on the islands for a group of 7. Thank you again for the reviews I CANT WAIT MUCH LONGER TO BE ON BOARD!!

Hi everyone:

As far as the door, I just open it and it stays! Never have had any problem with it shutting on me. I don't think I'll be opening it tonight though! My daughter and I were out sitting on the Terrace Pool this afternoon and around 3 pm, the wind really came up. The sky was still clear blue from where we were at the back of the ship. I ended up losing my towels in the pool and had to jump in to get them! Once I got to where I could see, there were some ominous clouds in the front and within an hour it was raining. The waves are quite big now and they are telling people to stay inside tonight. I sure hope it clears off by tomorrow for our last day!

Went to the Captain's Circle party tonight and enjoyed some free drinks. Wished I had won one of the free bottles of champagne, but no luck! This was an option formal night as we had an extra formal night on New Year's Eve. Dinner was wonderful as usual - had lobster tail and prawns.

I think someone asked about MUTS. I have only seen bits and pieces of things. They have concerts on such as Elton John, Billy Joel, Cher, etc. There have been lots of football bowl games (unique to this cruise I'm sure), the new Harry Potter movie, Casino Royale, and the new Bourne movie are ones that immediately come to mind.

As far as the Samur excursion in Bonaire. That was a Princess excursion that you can book ahead of time at the website. I do recommend it. We had so much fun.

They handed out the terrible disembarkation stuff today. I just don't want to see it!

Seriously, except for the Anytime Dining scandal, I have no complaints and have had a wonderful time! Love the ship!

Any questions you have - I'll be back on tomorrow! Tonight at 11:30 is the Champagne Waterfall, but don't know if I'll make that.

We are heading out on an old Chinese junk for some snorkling and beaching on Klein Bonaire today. Should be an experience!

Is this a Princess tour? Would love to hear about it.

Hi Folks,

Nice to see others chatting.

Went to Crown Grill last night, my views are,

the setting 5 star

the presentation 6 star

the food 4 star

the quanity 6 star

the service 2 star.

Would I go back , no, took one and half hours to get main course, and that was only after I complained.

Princess is cgarging you extra to eat here the service must be better, food takes time to cook, but waiting 45 minutes for bread or water is not on.

Now the food was fine but not excellant, tonight we ate in the main dinning room 1 hour from seating down to having coffee, the quality of the lobster tonight was better than last night.

Woulds say that the ship slowed down almost to a stop this afternoon when we found an area of dead calm water and bright clear skies, to night we are at full speed crashing through the waves, great fun.

Ship said there was a group of dolphin of the starboard bow today but I was not on deck so did not see them.

Got our letter about how we get our new cruise cards today.

Ques at front desk getting very long.

Of to try my luck at the casino, did not do well today in slot compertition.

I always hate the last day on a cruise. Always seems kind of subdued and sad. After a night of gale force winds, the morning was cloudy and cool, however as lunch approached the sun started peeking out. However, it is still quit windy and cool, but I think I'll give a try at one of the pools. There was a nice Mexican buffet for lunch and I had to have one last hot dog! They are so good. We are sailing side by side with a Carnival ship. There are supposed to be 9 ships in port tomorrow. Should make for an interesting disembarkation!

Hi Pam:

Have a nice last day. I know what you mean though, I just hate the last day of a good cruise. Now the one we were just on I couldn't wait for the very last day to get off the ship and come home, but that was a different line. I just hate to pack to come home. Seems so depressing.

Hope you had a wonderful time wit your family!!! Even thought we weren't with you, since we are such a "nice family." He was a nice tour operator in Capri.

Did Mike do any dancing on this cruise?

When we docked last year on Dec. 23 in Ft. Lauderdale, there was 10 ships in port. I will tell you, getting a taxi was not easy. There just wasn't more than a few there, so we ended up getting one of the vans that was sitting across from the taxi area at the port. It cost us $15 to get to the airport and was really an easy way to go. After standing there waiting for a taxi to actually appear, this turned out to be the best way to go. Was just us in the van which was also nice.

Have a safe trip home. Talk to you when you get back. I'm so anxious to hear even more about the cruise.

HI Folks,

Movies, That Green thing 1, 2 and 3 and that pirate thing 1,2 and 3, all shown babk to back Bond etc

As to back to back not alot we form into a small group and get taken through customs, we are not allowed back onboard before 9.45am.

Its the getting back onboard bit that has always been the problem, ships staff, tell you just to board, but try telling that to those on the peir will see what happens tomorrow,

Now the sad news, those that know the mini golf, will no the birdy music that plays, well some one has smashed the speakers.

Ate in the main dinning room last night great service and double lobster.

As to captain can not tell you anything, not even sure he is onboard, my last captain on the grand was seen every day, eating burgers, watching movies getting his photo taken, this one have never seen.

As to other things, there needs to be a do and do not list posted for those on board, do not blow your nose on the towels on deck, do not show your sun burn off in the dinning room, do give way to the old folk on the stairs and not push them aside.

Shogun

On the Crown last summer they broke all the speakers on the driving range by smashing them with the putters.

I would have loved to have caught them. I think it happens every cruise.

They even have lots of cctv cameras back there too.

Hi Folks,

For those going b2B we can get off anytime, or wait in a group until every one is off then go ashore and come back on again.

We went ashore total madness, wet weather etc, so did not go to saw grass just came back on board and chilled out chat to crew etc.

See you all soon

Enjoyed reading your experiences on the first leg of your b2b. Your upcoming cruise will be the same one we will be on starting 1/25.

So keep posting, I will be reading. Just one favor to ask. When you go to Princess Cays, do the bungalows still provide a person to serve drinks and bring food to the bungalows. I have heard that they now charge extra for this. If this is the case, I will seriously consider canceling. Thanks in advance for this. What other things have your planned for the other ports?

It's a good thing that you did not go to the Sawgrass Mall. There was a terrible accident on the interstate going there that closed it. It was a traffic nightmare. The sad thing about it was it was a tour bus full of cruisers from a HAL ship going on a tour of the Everglades. Many people hurt:( . Let's hope all turns out well for those hurt. What a way to end a vacation.

Have a good time on the Emerald.:)
