Shogun Live From The Emerald

Shogun

Recommended Posts

We have only done a b2b once, ahhhhhh, what a feeling . . . watching everyone else trying to get organized and off the ship while you get to laze around and do what you would like :D .

Please keep us informed on the ports you will be doing this cruise - would love some input on what you experience and hear about the them.

Hope your luggage shows up (I know you are probably tired of hearing it but maybe, just maybe they found it for your second trip).

I have enjoyed following your cruise. We will be leaving on February 1st for the February 4th boarding on the Emerald and will allso stay on board for the 14th sailng.

Shogun if you could find out about the services that go with the bungalows at Princess Cays it would be appreciated. Seems no one really knows and you can't trust Princess Customer service when you phone..everyone has a different asnwer.

Enjoy your second half.

I've been doing a lot of research on the bungalow situation- they no longer come with any services for the 199.00 price. No more priority tender passes, no waiter service. NADA.

Hi Folks,

Any word on the folks on the bus that had the accident on waty to saw grass.

As to staying onboard today it was great, ship was empty, great service at the bar, cafe etc.

Was starting to think would be youngest onboard first 1000 folk must have been over 70, but young ones did arrive.

Understand only 100 kids/teens on this cruise,

400 Brits onboard so could be a charter.

Sailaway was OK but not as good as last week not so many horns and bells

Hi Shogun,

I read that 4 people were critically injured, 4 were seriously injured and another 20 had minor injuries from the bus collision with a car in Florida. It was passengers who disembarked from the Maasdam.

Glad that you are having a great cruise and keeping that chin up about no luggage. It is a tough one to endure.

Shogun - how wonderful that you are staying on! I'll be anxious to read you updates and feel like I'm still on board:-)

We made it home and our flights were on time! And it is 38 degrees in Iowa, which is not bad considering how bad it could be! It always amazes me to think I was on my balcony this morning watching all the cruise ships come in to port this morning and tonight I'm grabbing a Subway sandwich for dinner! Oh well, it was a great 10 days while it lasted.

Susan - no dancing this time! Darn it!

Hi Folks,

I want a refund, I have seen the Princess pictures, sun, warm weather etc, well its cold and wet, so this must be Princess's fault right.

Was speaking to an officer he says ever year a teacher comes up to him and complains at christmas about all the kids on board, she said she cruised to get away from kids.

Found a big fault with the Emerald the bed side lamp has no dimmer switch its just and on and off is this Carnival trying to save money.

New table mates are nice first ever cruise so plenty to chat about.

Not keeping to well just now, but other half is getting better.

Still no bags, I assume I will never see them again.

Hi Folks,

Update for you all

CC group had meeting nice bunch of folk must have been around 12 of us.

The PSD came along from the ship, now this could be the nicest person in the world or atleast from Princess cruises, it was good to talk to him.

He told us that most of the ports we are going to there will be ships with the bug on board so Emerald will be doing its best to keep it off her.

He has been reading CC.

I requested a meeting with the CD Neil and got the chance to tell him my story, he said he will see if he can add a smile to our cruise, he has given us a free meal at our choice of slow or the very slow sorry, but I expect I will have normal service this time.

Cruise has nice mix of folk onboard no one main group or age band.

Went to Santuary today, best reason I can see is the soft beds so that you can have a great sleep in the sun.

Formal night so need to go and get my not so well fitting tux from the ship.

So sorry to hear your luggage never showed up for this cruise either:mad:

May the casino bless you and your lovely wife for all that you have endured.....I'm glad you got to spend some one on one time with Neil. I'm sure if anyone can make things happen he can. Also, there is a great officer at the Passenger Services desk that works nights. Her name is Sabrina, let her know that Mary (from the Grenanda 4wd excursio) sent you, perhaps she can help you out as well.

Take care, love hearing what going on as I am back at work dreaming of my next cruise in August.

Shogun,

So sorry we never hooked up. Please be sure to find Sharon & David and say Hello. Ring their cabin C751.

Enjoy the second half of your trip. I hope your luggage (or at least the same luck I had in the casino) finds you soon...try the craps table!

Until next time...

PSD not CD.

Thank you...I'm well aware of what I wrote!!!

James Lay was the CD that left a few cruises ago. Neil Chandler is the new CD.

The PSD is also named James, but his last name escapes me right now.

The CD Niel--what's his last name--from England ??--If he's the one I'm thinking about he was going to leave Princess a few months ago and live in London--Wish I could think of his last name--He gave us a very party on the TP--sailaway from Bora Bora--he proved to us--not to ask for favors--then they will come your way--we asked him to come by and say hello --instead he provided everything from shrimp etc to Champagne for all !!

Okay I wish I could remember his last name--from the UK--was getting married toward the end of '07--have sailed with him at least 3 times

He's thin==wears some chicken hat when calling Bingo

This is driving me crazy--Anyone know who this Niel is ???

That's the information I was looking for--you posted while I was writing

Neil Chandler was the CD I wanted the last name for--if you read my post--I mentioned how great he was to our CC group in May of '07

When we last spoke he was going to leave Princess to get married and live in London--I believe that he wife is a stage actress

Anyway--Neil is the greatest--Thank him from the TP cc's in May of last year--Aft Suite 6088

Shogun, by my calculations your bags have now been around the luggage carousal at FLL 691,200 times waiting for you to pick them up ;) . They have travelled almost the same distance as you have, and should be totally worn out if ever you see them again.

... but just think of the stories they will tell of all those people they've seen!

Have a great cruise !

Hi Folks,

Just taking a short break from getting roasred alive on the open decks, after me saying it was cold and wet well its now very hot, calm seas light winds,

That nice man, the PSD that I told you about well last night I got a call in my cabin to say I had been invited to dine with him.

Told you he was very nice.

Now if he is reading these posts, I better start saying how nice Princess is, but thats not Shoguns way, you will get things as I see them, I hope that they are a fair ref;lection of the ship and its crew.

The sun rise is around 7.00 and sun set around 6.00 and is on the right side of the ship as we sail away from FT L but we do change direction for shipping lanes and where the islands are, but hope this helps,

Please tell James the Simons say hello from 12/16 sailing.... (he taped up my speaker in the hallway,he'll remember):p the xmas music was sooo loud we heard it in our cabin. Trust me, romance and jingle bells don't mix.

Please tell him it's not what Princess standards are and they need to get up to speed on service in order to differentiate themselves from Rcl,carnival......

At this poing I couldn't recommend the Emerald but will still sail Princess

CuriousCat

PS ask him how long he is on board... thanks:D
