Viva Las Vegas Posted December 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2007 Were there any restrictions or limited cash availability in $US$ when desiring to cash traveler's checks on board to make purchases or pay for transportation at ports of call? We had no problems cashing Travelers Cheques on board the Quest. The personnel at the front desk/reception area were happy to help out.

Yes, you can cash traveler's checks at the Customer Relations Desk and their shouldn't be any problem obtaining any reasonable sum of money. Note: All currency obtained on the ship is in U.S. dollars. One thing to note is that Azamara's itineraries may take you to places where the U.S. dollar is not readily accepted by many cab drivers or businesses. The cabs specifically at the port may take dollars but others probably will not. This was common on our Brasil cruise and other cruises to places outside North America and the Caribbean. My advice is to use your ATM card to obtain local currency. Use a bank ATM and obtain the amount of cash you will need for the port and make use of your credit card for larger purchases. Take care, Mike
