I am soooo inpatient! I am dying to know what our cabin number will be. I just cruised in July but I can't remember how soon before the cruise I got our cabin number. I keep looking at the Carnival site like eveyr hour to check. HA!

I cruise Feb 10 so I know it won't be too much longer :-)

We never seem to get ours till the day of the cruise.

Maybe once......we've gotten it before......

But we have terrible luck with upgrades.........After 13 Carnival Cruises....We book a 4A / 6A / 8A Guarantee......and that's what we get....

I have cruised with Carnival 3 times before and everytime I have gotten my cabin number way before we sail. I have never had to wait til we get there. I was thinking I got it a month before last time, but for some reason I can't remember. We have only been upgraded once.

I've cruise Carnival 12 times. Most times that I booked gty I didn't find out until the day I sailed from Carnival. I did find out once from them a month out. I have found out in the past with method learned here in the past. Now, with e-docs you may find out sooner, but still last Janurary didn't get number until day of sailing. If you do a search that is the norm unless you book direct with CCL

Yea, e-docs. I have been on the Carnival site looking at that. There is where i saw it before, but even when I got my documents in the mail I still have my cabin number.

When i asked how far in advnace you could find out, I was refering to

e-docs. I forgot to mention that....OOOPS!!!

I think I understand this - but I want to be sure. When I booked I went with a BL - so my understanding is that I could be in any catagory of cabin 8A-E. But when you book an 8A with a guarantee, then you could also be on any "floor" 8A-E........right? Why would a person book an

8A with a guarantee and not a BL since you will at least get an 8A this way too?

(by the way - I sail February 10th too, and my cabin assignment on my E-Docs still says TBA)

G-8A is the same as G-BL.

I was just going to post this exact question!:D We sail Feb 16th and online it still says TBA. I'm dying to know where we will be (not that it makes a difference I guess) but it would be fun to know.

First time cruisers, so I guess we are a little nutty!:o

I am not brave enough to book a cabin where you have no idea which one until a month or less out. I like to pick the cabin because I don't want to be suprised. Perhaps a suite category, but I just have a preferance as to where I want to be on the ship.

I have had a cabin at the very back of the ship and it wasn't the greatest and I don't think it would be relaxing to have a cabin right above the casino or nightclub....

You all see adventuresome, not me......maybe that is why I will probably never cruise on Royal Caribbean, I don't do adventure (as in skating, rock climbing, boxing, surfing, etc....)

Hello! I have wanted to try RC, but I'm so attached to Carnival that I am afraid i won't like it.

I don't have any worries when it comes to where our room is. :D The only thing is that i don't want to be above or below any lounges. Chances are good, and this time we got a room in a great place. I'm counting down the days til Feb 10!!!!

BL GTY = Carnival tells you your cabin number.

8A = You get to pick.

You can book BL gty which means a gty of 8a or better

OR you can book a 8A gty which also means 8a or better. With

an 8A gty ( as with any gty) you do not get to pick your cabin.

Many times they offer a gty rate on several decks.

Cat. 8 is a balcony...the letter that follows the 8 designates the deck that you are on. The cabins are basically the same.

We cruise on February 24th 2008 and we got our cabin assignments about a month ago. We booked a 8A gty and we ended up with a 8C on the veradah deck. Im so excited! The lady even said there is a chance we will still get upgraded. I love the spot we are in its perfect.

We cruise on March 15, 2008, and got our balcony guarantee assignment at about 77 days out (last week). We booked a BL guarantee and got an 8C on the verandah deck. The location is fine with me, but man, I am still holding out for that Cat 11 or 12 upgrade (but not holding my breath)! :)

We got our cabin assignments yesterday (checked e-docs daily) for our 3/5/08 cruise.

We also got our cabin assignment yesterday; we're on the 26 Feb sailing. I think they did a bunch of assignments before everyone left for Christmas. I was watching to see which cabins were available; the cabin we were assigned was still available on 17 Dec, but not on 21 Dec when I checked again. However, they didn't release those assignments to us until 31 Dec!
