They should just provide the d**ned things in all cabins, period.

Wendy,

O is in constantly upgrading cabin amenities (we were on the Regatta, two weeks ago and they were then in the process of installing big new flatscreen TV's in all the Standard (read not suite or concierge) Cabins.

This was in conjunction with a new cable box/dvd player which will offer a Tivo like DVR service come the upgrade of the O Satellite Service in December.

Personally, we love a DVR because we time shift "our programs", so that we can watch them while getting dressed for dinner, or at bedtime. Just as many passengers, however are sure to call the DVR service a waste of money (as they never waste time watching TV on a cruise).

Same goes for the fridge in the room, some cherish them, others will resent the wasted space.

We're on the "why would anybody want one" side. The ship feeds you every twenty minutes, and all the ice that you want is never more than a telephone call away.

OK, it can be convenient to freeze water bottles, so that you have iced water on excursions to hot places.......however, on the last 3 such excursions that we took, cold water was on Sale ($2.00) at every turn, so why bother?

Take heart, Wendy, I'm sure that every Marina Class cabin will have a mini bar. :o

The reference to "Marina Class" was to the newly designed ships, construction of the first of which begins in Italy in a few months. As yet, no actual names have been designated, but for the moment, the three existing ships will be referred to as "Regatta Class" and the two or possibly three bigger ones will be "Marina Class".

The refrigerator problem has been covered over and over in many previous threads - and I believe that someone from Oceania said that they had fully looked into the problem and concluded that there was no way refrigerators could be added to the smaller rooms - no place to install them without taking up needed floor space, and no way to connect necessary drainage...

Rickey, Catagory A and B cabins are identical, except for the fridge. There is a place for one, but it needs to be built in, which is what they did for the A cabins - the B cabins have a few extra drawers.
