Official vs. "Real" Boarding Time for Liberty?

Does the Liberty really starting boarding at 1:30??? That's what is says in our docs.. I know on Fantasy last year they began at about 11:30-12. Just don't want to rush to get to the port if they stick to this..Never sailed on Carnival out of Ft Lauderdale...

thanks:)

If the ship is running on schedule the terminal will usually begin processing the new passengers between 10:30 and 11:00 AM. VIP Boarding will usually begin by noon, sometimes a little earlier.

We think 10:30 is a great time to arrive at the pier in Ft. Lauderdale. You stand in line for a short while but we like being on the ship early.

Host Caroline,

On our Liberty cruise out of FLL boarding began about three hours earlier, but our boarding time was also stated as 1:30.

At 10:45 we were on Lido;

By 11:00 we were enjoying lunch;

By 11:30 our rooms were ready;

We arrived at the port around 9:00 and were seated in a VERY air conditioned room until boarding began (It was cool enough to hang meat! and that's not a complaint, only an observation). We were in the first row of non-platinum pax. Prior to finding our seats we completed our S&S info & received our cards and had our security screening so all that was left was our preboarding picture.

FLL has been our easiest embarkation so far.

Last Jan. we were in line at 10:00 am, went through check-in, and embarkation picture taken, by 10:30. Then we went and sat down to wait. Key word for me was, sat. 11:30 we started for the security thingy, met other ccers in line, did the security check, add pic to card, and on board by 12-12:15.
