FirstTimeOnABigShip Posted January 2, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2008 Hello. Would anyone be able to tell me what might be going on with the Grand princess today? According to the schedule it should be in Cozumel since 8:00am almost 4 hours ago but it's bridge cam just shows open sea and the status is On Navigation Towards Cozumel. The Cozumel Port cam shows a ship which looks to me like the MSC Lirica which according to the port schedule should have left port yesterday. The Norwegian Jewel is tied up next to it and it was due to arrive there this morning so it seems like the port is open. I may just be making a mistake of some kind but I think I'm right. Any ideas how to find out? I have friends on the ship and so have been spot checking their progress. Tom
mii Posted January 2, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2008 Sometimes the web cam has problems. I know I was watching the Diamond web cam before our cruise this past Nov. and for a few days it was just stuck on Hilo. Now I knew the itiniery because I was going to go the next cruise after that. Also it could be weather related; they could be delayed or maybe a change in ports. Could be alot of things. Marilyn
vince_g Posted January 2, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2008 Tom, The image from the bridge webcam doesn't seem to be changing as it should. It looks like it's static. I think there may be something wrong with it. They might very well be in Cozumel right now. I take that back now... just checked again and it has changed. Sorry about that. Colo Cruiser Posted January 2, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2008 I agree don't trust the info from the web cam. ;)
FirstTimeOnABigShip Posted January 2, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted January 2, 2008 The web camera was working just fine. Shortly after noon the display changed to Under navigation to Princess Cays. For some reason they skipped Cozumel. I was just wondering how to find out why they skipped Cozumel?
ChrissyM_Cruiser Posted January 3, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2008 I was just wondering how to find out why they skipped Cozumel? Just a guess, but from looking at the weather and the cruise calendar for Cozumel yesterday, there were supposed to be 9 ships in port and the weather was bad and the water choppy. I'd bet that some of the ships that had to tender might have decided to skip the port call. It appears that the Carnival ship Holiday did the same thing.
