sekhmet101 Posted January 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2008 Does anyone know if a helmet dive is offered anywhere other then Grand Turk? We're considering Carnival's Exotic Eastern Caribbean that goes to Grand Turk and RCCL's Southern Caribbean which seems to go everywhere but. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
LynneL Posted January 14, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2008 Offered in Bermuda but that wouldn't be on either of the intineraries you mentioned if you're sticking to strictly those 2. Sorry I couldn't help you out more.

Rare nattie Posted January 29, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2008 If it is the same thing in Caribbean as in Pacific :), helmet dive is when you go about 10meters deep with the big antique looking helmet on your head. The helmet is connected to the dive boat above and you are supplied with air through the link. It is great way to dive, since you don't need any certifications, don't have to breathe through tubes (my biggest hang up) and your hair doesn't even get wet! I absolutely loved the helmet dive we did on Bora Bora :) Now, who offers Helmet Dive in Grand Turk??? It is not on the listed excursions for my upcoming Princess cruise. Any info on independents for this? Would love to do one again.
topspot Posted February 2, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 2, 2008 We went on a helmet dive in Grand Cayman last year, it was very nice. It was also offered in Cozumel. I would not describe the helmets as "antique" but more like a helmet from a space suit.
