Rare pierces Posted January 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2008 On A SANDISK ULTRA 2 CARD THE PACKAGE SAID I CAN TAKE 1666 PICTURES FOR A 8MP SETTING.WHEN I PUT THE CARD IN MY CAMERA THE CAMERA SHOWS THAT I CAN ONLY TAKE 792 PICTURES. WHY THE BIG DIFFERENCE? Take a look at my article on resolution and compression: http://www.pptphoto.com/ArticlePages/VivaLaResolution.htm The short answer is that cameras compress images based on different user settings and internal processing...your milage may vary. Please read the article...it may save you from 1666 tiny, badly-compressed pictures!;) Dave P.S. As for a picture of me (per you earlier request)...why do you think I always have the camera? :)
