Hedocple Posted January 9, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2008 Best beach - we will be in St Kitts on the Crown Jan 21 2008 - any suggestions re: beach - no one has stated their choice???? Thanks South Frigate Bay...Close to port with lots of beach bars. You can take a short water taxi ride there. Bit further away at the southern tip (S. Peninsula) are a few of our favs...Cockleshell and Banana Bay. We have quite a few pics of all in our Webshots photo album.
TravelingLLK Posted January 15, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2008 We were at cockelshell beach last week. Absolutely beautiful. Get there early if you want chairs, filled up in 1 hr. of us arriving. Queen Mary II was also in port. Chairs cost $5. Nice bar and bathroom facilities available. Some were complaining about expense of cab fare - make sure you settle on price before leaving. Had a great time!

TravelingLLK Posted January 17, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2008 We arrived at the beach around 10:30. Lots of chairs to choose from at the time. Around 11:00 larger van loads of people started showing up. Not sure about the cab fare. Heard someone complaining about round trip for $26pp. We had a private tour guide all day and paid $25 pp and he had Subway sandwiches and drink for us. boomshakalaka Posted January 25, 2008 #9 Share Posted January 25, 2008 We also were at Cockelshell Bay last week. It is beautiful. I don't know that I would recommend taking a taxi. A mom daghter and child had been dropped off at the beach by a taxi and when they were ready to go back there were no taxis to be found. We booked a tour with Ilva Wallace and had a great time. She is such a nice lady. Ilva took us anywhere we wanted to go. She took us to Brimestone Hill Fortress and the Batik factory(neither were part of our tour) which extended our tour a couple of hours and still charged us the same price. We reserved her over the internet have the info if your interested
CBGB10 Posted January 25, 2008 #10 Share Posted January 25, 2008 Does anyone know if the Turtle Beach Bar is open again yet? We are interested in the monkeys ;)
paul58 Posted January 25, 2008 #11 Share Posted January 25, 2008 Not yet. I guess late this Spring. I am sure the monkeys are keeping a low profile at what was Turtle Beach Bar & Grill, no one to feed then.
