J's Gal Posted January 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Congrats on your upcoming wedding.:) Do you have specific questions? We are getting married on the Conquest June 8, 2008. We have been planning since last May, so I may be able to offer you some advice or suggestions, if I know what you are looking for. These boards have been so extremely helpful, you will find lots of good pointers on here.

11/23/08wedding Posted January 9, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted January 9, 2008 I just wanted to find out from people how there experiance went. What we should look out for or do to make things run smooth. What the locations for the weddings looked like, how the food was. We just booked ours friday so I haven't even gotten the packet from them, I just want to make sure it is going to be nice. I have been married before but my fiancee hasn't. We have a lot of people coming from out of town to cruise and to just come to the wedding. I also would like to know what other people thought of the upgrades and what to and not to spend money on. Thanks for your response and have a great day!

Here are some links to reviews that really helped us out when we started planning: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=624963&highlight=conquest http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=625015&highlight=conquest http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberre...?EntryID=22123 We cruised the Conquest last spring and loved it so much we decided to get married on board! All of our guests are coming from out of town. We live north of Houston and did not want to drive the morning of (you have to be a port by 10:30am), so we arranged a room block at the Hotel Galvez. They offer free shuttle service to the port and parking for the sailing guests is flat rate of $10 (for entire week). We are hosting a dinner the Saturday evening prior to the wedding in Galveston at Salsa's Seaside Cafe (you will read about it in DyanaT's review). They now have a private room in the front that is all windows that will allow for a nice view (as nice as it gets in Galveston :) ), plus privacy for our party. For the actually wedding, the location on the ship will depend on the number of guests you have. TWE will contact you approximately 2-3 weeks before the wedding with the location and the time. The location of the reception will be determined by number of guests, but also by music selection, i.e. if you choose DJ, you will have reception in Henri's Disco (that is where we are having ours) or if you choose the pianist, you will get the Blue's Paino Bar. Hope this helps. Good luck in your planning and congratulations!
