Great Barrier Reef catamaran

We have a Princess pre cruise tour that will take us to Carins. There is a scheduled trip on a catamaran taking us to the GBR. Any one have any experience with a similiar trip and can let me know what to expect? Thanks.

There are many GBR tours leaving from Cairns. We were on the Big Cat last month that went to Green Island Reef These can be half days or whole days. Snorkeling at the island beach, glass bottom boat and semi submersible were the reef activities. Lots of fish and coral to see. Some activities were 10 dollars extra each depending on main ticket. Lunch included on whole day ticket. Island has pool and trails and shops.

Other tours just go to reefs and drop anchor and people snorkel. Some have private docking facilities.

We did one that just stopped on the reef (closer in than the ones leaving from Port Douglas). It was a lovely sail, a bit crowded, folks from lots of countries, lunch. Very nice day!
