Recent RCCL FLL Luggage Valet Experience

I did a search but didn't find any recent info on the luggage valet program at Port Everglades. For those of you that used the program recently, did you collect your luggage and walk it through customs or did you not see your luggage until your destination? I love this option but do like getting my luggage so I can shove toiletries etc. used in the morning back in the luggage to avoid carrying them all day in my carry-on.
