232271 Posted January 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2008 We are on the Diamond Princess, July 2008-- Okay, so most of the excursions we are thinking of end by 11 am! and we dont leave port till 830 pm, so we will have about 8 hours of free time. Anybody have any suggestions what to do? I have searched the net, and read guide books, but not many suggestions found. THANKS IN ADVANCE :)
MercedMike Posted January 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2008 What are you booked for? The Totem Heritage Center and Totem Bight Park are pre-eminent for totems. Saxman Village is also interesting. The Ketchikan Ducks are lots of fun. Check out our page in the sig below for reviews and pics of several Ketchikan attractions. Have a GREAT cruise! Budget Queen Posted January 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2008 Ketchikan is a fantastic walking city. Or take the city bus to Totem Bight. Discovery Center is interesting etc etc etc. http://www.visit-ketchikan.com
CruisinKiki Posted January 12, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2008 In Ketchikan there is a nice visitor center right at the dock. If you have time before your excursion, you could go in and book a tour with a local vendor. When we were there, we didn't have anything booked through the ship and we just went into this building and all the local vendors were set up to tell you about what they had to offer.
