Getting to Cruise Terminal if Weather is bad

Hi!

I am cruising out of Cape Liberty, Bayonne in mid March 2009. I am wondering if Amtrak Train services still work normally when there is a storm that is preventing flights into the local area? For example if my flight from San Francisco to Newark is cancelled due to the weather in Newark but I can fly into Cleveland instead is it likely that train services from Cleveland into Newark would be running or would they also be cancelled?

Thanks for you help :)

It really depends on how bad the storm is and whether its the same problem. The other problem is of course long haul train service in the US is extremely poor. If its fog on the coast then the trains keep running. If its two feet of snow the trains have problems too but less so. Its better to try to get into Washington National and use the NE corridor which has many more trains...but those trains get crowded and full very quickly...
