Muster drill on Spirit - Mexican Riviera

I thought it was required that all ships have to have the muster drill before the ship leaves port. I read that somewhere on CC.

Lisa, that is not correct. This is from the Coast Guard website:

On voyages of one week or less, the drills must be held within 24 hours after leaving port.

The web address is here:

scroll down to Emergency Drills. I've learned there is a lot of information here, but a lot of misinformation as well.

To the OP it is my understanding that the Spirit does the drill about the time they are pulling away from the pier. This may or may not be true, but that is all the info I have been able to gather.
