Norfolk for RCL Fall Colors Cruise

We are flying into Norfolk for the September 4th Fall Colors Cruise on RCL. How far is the cruise ship terminal from the airport? Should we look for accommodations closer to the airport or cruise terminal? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!! What about hotels with shuttle service?

The cruise terminal is in downtown Norfolk about 15 minutes from the airport. Downtown has a Courtyard, a Marriott and a Sheraton, Avoid the Radisson. There are several hotels near the airport - Hilton and Holiday Inn Select. There is another new one that has just opened but I'm not sure the name. Check the reviews before you book anything as there are several you really want to avoid. Downtown is a great place to stay pre-cruise. There is a large mall and many restaurants within walking distance from the port.
